  • Day 2 - Jerash − Amman City Tour
We will have one-hour drive to the ancient city of Jerash, which was a prominent member of the Decapolis during the Roman era. Considered the best example of a Roman provincial city in the Middle East, a knowledgeable local guide will bring the city's history to life as we explore the spectacular Forum, Roman colonnaded street, Nymphaeum, theaters, and the Temple of Artemis. Once back in the capital, we will continue our tour by visiting the historic downtown area of Amman, starting with a visit to the Citadel. From this vantage point, you can enjoy stunning views of the hilly capital and see remnants from the Roman to the early Islamic periods, such as the Hercules Temple, the Umayyad Palace, and the small Archaeological Museum. The impressive Roman Theatre, which can accommodate up to 6,000 visitors, is also not far away. We will then stroll through the vibrant markets (Souq) in the heart of downtown, where you can find an array of goods such as fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, clothes, household items, and much more. Finally, we will return to your hotel in Amman.
  • Day 3 - Madaba − Mt Nebo − King's Way − Kerak Castle
After checking out of your hotel, we will embark on a scenic drive to Mt. Nebo, believed to be the burial site of Prophet Moses. Weather permitting, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a stunning view of the Promised Land, just like the prophet did. The Moses Memorial Church, which dates back to the 4th century, houses beautiful mosaics and is a must-see site. We will then take a short ride to the charming town of Madaba, famous for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaic art. Here, you will see the popular 6th-century map of Palestine in the Greek Orthodox St. George’s Church. If possible, we will also visit St. John's the Baptist Church, where you can climb the bell tower for stunning views of the city. Our journey continues along the famous King's Way, an ancient biblical caravan route, with a brief stop in the magnificent Wadi Al-Mujib valley, known for its impressive geological formations. Our next destination is the city of Kerak, where we will visit the famous Crusader castle built in 1132/34 by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem. After exploring the castle, we will proceed on a scenic two-hour drive to the spectacular city of Petra.
